The purpose of this campaign is to raise the public’s awareness of basic human rights abuses contained in the Mental Health Act 2001, and more specifically Article 59 b dealing with forced ECT.  We will set in train a campaign to build the political pressure that will see the deletion of Article 59b.

imho the more publicity, the more debate, the more research the better. by the end of 2009 my depression was so bad that I was about to ask for ECT, anything to change the status quo, My limited research suggested that I had nothing to lose.

Happily the mere thought seems to have jolted me into a profound change, mor likely my acceptance of my bp condition, ll in favour of the campaign – bring the oxygen of publicity to bear does matter if nobody knows hoe it works just that it does.
